Pricing
Residents assessed as having the means to pay an accommodation deposit will be required to either pay a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP), or a combination of both. A RAD is paid as a lump sum amount and is 100% refundable when the resident leaves the facility. A DAP accrues daily and is paid each fortnight. The DAP is based on the Maximum Permissible Interest Rate (MPIR) set by the Commonwealth Government. This is reviewed quarterly but set on the date that the resident enters care. It is fixed at the date of admission. The MPIR on 1 July 2024 was 8.36%. As an example, the RAD for a Premier Suite is $1,800,000. A resident can choose to pay the full RAD ($1,800,000) and no DAP; or, pay 50% of the RAD ($900,000) and a DAP of $206.14 per day; or not pay any RAD and pay a DAP of $412.27 per day.
